       Small Laptop Computers - Great For Travel!

Small computers, sometimes known as netbooks, mini notebooks or ultra portables, have evolved into a category of small lightweight inexpensive computers well suited for general computing and web based applications.

When these small computers came on the market in late 2007, they had very small screens and keyboards and lacked computing power.  Consumer feedback on the shortcomings were responsible for manufacturer enhancements in power and features, and today these computers have evolved to a point where they perform very well and can handle your basic computer needs like everyday use of the Internet, email, chat, music, movies and videos.

Professionals who travel a lot love how these small computers sit nicely on top of an airplane tray without having to deal with the bulk of a larger laptop that doesn’t fit as comfortably in the limited space.

Students can easily carry these small computers in their backpacks or purses and have them on hand when they’re in a friend’s dorm room, or the library, or a coffee shop off campus. They come in various colors and are considered by many to be a great accessory.

Screen size on these machines range from 7 to 10 inches with some offering larger keyboards, a nice feature if you have big hands.  Some of the reasons people prefer these small computers include:

*   Portability….they’re small and lightweight,
*   Cost ……they’re less expensive than larger laptops,
*   Power consumption…..they use less power and require less cooling,
*   Performance…..they rival larger computers,
*   Easy to use and environmentally friendly,
*   Quiet and stylish…… available in bright colors just like cell phones.
*   Chatting capabilities like cell phones with an added feature…video.

Can you see why net book and mini laptops are gaining in popularity?

There are four main things to consider when buying a mini note book:
1.  The screen and keyboard size
2.  The amount of memory
3.  How much are you willing to pay?
4.  You’ll need about four hours of battery life so be sure to look at that
     specification.

After answering these questions, consider doing an online comparison of a few mini notebooks (like the Asus Eee PC 904HA, the HP Mini AKA 2113, the Acer Aspire One, or the Dell Inspiron Mini 9).

Do a few comparisons to find the small computer that fits into your lifestyle, make a decision and start enjoying the benefits of your new ultra portable.
